The 2022 Mass Save Rebate Program

Brett Rogenski of N.E.T.R., Inc. talks about the Mass Save rebate program for air source heat pumps, and explains both whole home and partial home rebates, as well as how N.E.T.R. can help.

Hi, I’m Brett Rogenski, general manager with N.E.T.R., Inc., and I’m here to talk to you today about the Mass Save program rebates for air source heat pumps. There are two primary rebate packages that are available. The first one is a whole home rebate. That is where you’re eliminating your fossil fuel based heating system and moving solely to air sourced heat pumps to heat your home. Great way to decarbonize your home. It’s also a great way to qualify for that max rebate of up to $10,000. It does have some stipulations regarding the way controls are set up in your home, as well as the fact that you have to have an energy audit to help tighten up the envelope of your home and make sure that your home is energy efficient.

The second option is partial home rebates. Partial home rebates are where the air source heat pump will essentially supplement your existing fossil fuel based system and become the primary source of heat, but that fossil fuel system is perhaps still taking on part of the house where it wouldn’t work with the air source, or perhaps taking on some supplemental heat during extreme conditions.

So, one great thing about N.E.T.R. that we do very well — we’ve been working with Mass Save for many years and we have an in-house team that acts as a concierge to lead you through the process. We do a ROI calculator for you. We help provide you all the documentation that you need to maximize your Mass Save rebate. And we have people who specialize in bringing you through that process. I hope this gives you more information so that you’ll want to find out more about the Mass Save air source heat pump rebate program.
