Top 10 Mitsubishi Mini-Split Heating Features

Wondering what makes a Mitsubishi mini-split so great? Here are our 10 favorite features and how we can get you set up for an easy quote to see how much you can save by switching to ductless

1. INVERTER Technology

Mitsubishi uses a patented flash injection technology that allows a portion of refrigerant to be rerouted back to the compressor, enabling it to run at higher speeds and increasing its performance. Instead of starting and stopping to maintain the temperature in a space, INVERTER systems will self-adjust to provide consistent warmth.

2. High HSPF Ratings

A mini split’s Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) rating is a measurement of how efficiently it can heat a space by calculating how much heat is produced per unit of energy used. The higher the HSPF rating, the more efficient a ductless unit is and the more heating you can get for less money. Mitsubishi mini-splits can have HSPF ratings over 13, which is higher than the majority of traditional heaters currently on the market and even some heat pumps.

3. Cooling Down to 32 Degrees

Ductless heaters also function as air conditioners, but this feature isn’t just limited to the summertime. Clean rooms, medical storage, and other facilities that require cold conditions can use a mini-split on AC mode when it’s as low as 32 degrees outside.

4. Heating Up to 75 Degrees

Do you prefer your space to be warm instead? Mitsubishi mini-splits also allow you to continue heating your area, even if the temperature outside is as high as 75 degrees.

5. Remote Control Operation

Do you hate getting up to adjust the settings on your thermostat? Ductless heaters come with a convenient remote control that you can use to adjust the temp, fan speed, and more. Plus, most mini-splits also give you the option to connect the system to a smart device, so you can control your heating no matter where you are.

6. Multiple Mounting Options

Heat pumps offer a wide variety of installation options, so you can choose where and how your mini-split is mounted. One of the most common setups is a wall unit, but you can also opt for a floor-mounted system or even have it installed in your ceiling.

You’re also not limited to only one type of unit for every room and can mix and match based on your individual needs. For example, you can have a wall-mounted unit in your living room and a recessed ceiling unit in the bathroom to keep the space from becoming too cramped.

7. Dry Mode

New England humidity can make your space feel hot and sticky, even in the winter. Mitsubishi mini-splits have an integrated “dry mode” that can dehumidify your space without the need for a separate appliance. And because the system is set up to drain moisture and condensation, you also don’t have to dump out a reservoir of water like you would with a traditional dehumidifier.

8. Blue Fin Anti-Corrosion Coating

Speaking of moisture in the air, another issue you don’t have to worry as much about with a Mitsubishi mini split is rust on your outdoor unit. While salty sea air can be tough on metal components, the brand’s proprietary Blue Fin anti-corrosion coating protects it from oxidation. This coating is made from high-strength epoxy resin that resists water and prevents the growth of harmful bacteria, as well as resist environmental acids, salts, and harsh minerals that are present in the air.

9. Nano-Platinum Filter

Mitsubishi also delivers in terms of air quality, and the company’s Nano Platinum filtration system offers advanced allergen and odor elimination that takes healthy air to the next level. Instead of using catechin, these filters use a platinum catalyst that absorbs odors on a molecular level.

10. Automatic Restart

In the event of an electrical outage, a Mitsubishi mini-split will automatically restart when the power comes back on. Then, the unit will adjust its performance to bring your space back to its set temperature as quickly as possible.
