Ductless Mini Split AC Installed in Boston Condo

Boston, MA, Condo gets a Mitsubishi Electric ductless AC installed for heating and air conditioning. The owners of this Boston, MA condo loved the location and modern design of their home. However, the lack of air conditioning in the bedroom and living room proved to be a problem in the heat of summer.

The owners knew that adding ductwork for a traditional HVAC system was not an option, so they researched alternative heating and air conditioning methods. After deciding that window ACs were not a good solution because they are expensive, loud, and inefficient to run.

Researching additional options, they discovered the N.E.T.R. Inc., is the #1 Elite Diamond Dealer for Mitsubishi Electric ductless air conditioning in Boston and the surrounding areas. After reading the hundreds of customer reviews, they decided that N.E.T.R., Inc., was the right company for their HVAC installation.

Our team talked with the owners about the Mitsubishi ductless AC system and how this ductless mini-split AC will help the family enjoy both heating and air conditioning all year long.

The Problem: The owners of this Boston condo needed heating and air conditioning in their bedroom and living room to supplement the existing gas heat and provide AC in the summer.

The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc., installed a Mitsubishi ductless mini-split AC system with a high-efficiency heat pump to provide year-round comfort for the whole house.

The DesignExample of an indoor Mitsubishi Electric ductless wall AC installed in a Boston condo

The team at N.E.T.R., Inc., toured the condo to find the best placement for the ductless AC units in the living room and bedroom. The condo’s floorplan made it easy to design a multi-zone system with three ductless mini-split ACs throughout the rooms.

Outside the home, N.E.T.R., Inc., found the perfect location for the new condenser unit with a heat pump. The location will place it out of the way and where it is easy to access for repairs and maintenance but does not take away from the home’s curb appeal. Additionally, new refrigerant lines could easily be run up the wall to get to the indoor units. The refrigerant lines will be carefully concealed to give a clean finish.

The Installation

Unlike installing traditional ductwork, installing the new Mitsubishi ductless mini-split AC system is a simple and quick process. The team at N.E.T.R., Inc., drills a small hole in the wall behind where the AC unit will be mounted and snakes piping through to the outdoor condenser unit. This piping pumps the treated air to the air handlers inside the home more efficiently than ductwork, providing a simple and effective air conditioning solution.

The three ductless ACs were installed in the bedroom and the living room. Each unit was mounted on the wall, out of the way, where it would have the best angle for optimal airflow throughout the space.

Outside, N.E.T.R., Inc., poured a concrete pad to mount the outdoor condenser unit. This design helps to prevent the condenser from being blocked by debris or snow and gives technicians easy access for maintenance.

The Benefits

An outdoor condenser unit installed for Mitsubishi Electric ductless AC system installed in Boston condoNot only will this new Mitsubishi ductless AC system help to provide high-quality air conditioning throughout this condo, but the units double as high-efficiency heaters, as well. With a single installation, the owners now have three air conditioners and heaters to help keep their condo comfortable all year long.

The ductless ACs operate with remote control, so adjusting the temperature from the comfort of your couch while watching your favorite show is easy. And these Mitsubishi ductless mini-splits are known for the whisper-quiet technology that makes them so silent they’ve been installed in music studios! Additionally, the units operate independently from one another, so it will be easy to keep the bedroom a little cooler than the living room if that’s how the family likes it.

Because the ductless AC system is more energy-efficient than window units or other HVAC solutions, the owners qualified for a $592 rebate to help offset the cost of installation. Furthermore, the efficiency of these units will ensure that the family sees savings on their energy bills for years to come.
