Cape-Style Home in Lowell Upgrades AC System

Cape-style home in Lowell, MA, upgrades old AC system with an American Standard HVAC system. The owners of this quaint, cape-style home in Lowell, MA, had started to notice some problems with their home’s AC system.  The existing air conditioning system was outdated, but it had served the family well for many years.  Unfortunately, it was getting expensive to run and start giving them numerous problems, especially in the hottest months of the year.

The family knew that it was time for a change, so they started looking at options for upgrading their HVAC system.  After some time, they found N.E.T.R., Inc. and read our many five-star reviews from previous customers.  After finding that we had helped families with similar problems find cost-effective solutions for their homes, the homeowners knew it was time to give us a call.

The Problem: The owners of this cape-style home in Lowell, MA, had an old AC system that was failing.  The entire system needed to be replaced with new units.

The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. designed an updated AC system using an American Standard AC with an outdoor unit and indoor air handler.  This system would be easy to replace and cost-effective for the family.

The Design

Indoor air handler for American Standard air conditioning system in Lowell, MA. After the homeowners called N.E.T.R., Inc., they met with the project manager assigned to their installation.  After touring the home, he observed that the old system was outdated and needed a complete replacement to function correctly.

Luckily, the house’s existing ductwork was in excellent condition and did not need a replacement to work with the new AC units.  The project manager proposed that the family have an American Standard HVAC system installed in place of the old units.  This design would help to save the family money and give them the cooling relief they needed in their home.

The Installation

Before the new units could be installed in the home, the old AC system had to be removed.  The N.E.T.R., Inc. team started by removing the outdoor condenser unit, which was disposed of according to proper regulations in Massachusetts  Additionally, the indoor air handler, which was in the attic, was removed and properly disposed of as well.

After the old system was cleared out and the ductwork was cleaned, the new units could be installed.  The American Standard blower unit was installed in the attic in place of the old air handler.  The outdoor condenser unit from American Standard was also installed where the previous unit had been, making this project quick and efficient.
