After the owner had finally had enough of turning the thermostat up and down to find the right balance, they knew it was time to call in the experts.
The many five-start reviews from customers with similar problems in Boston and the surrounding areas led this condo owner to N.E.T.R., Inc. The owner discovered that we have over 40 years of experience helping homeowners and businesses find the right heating and cooling solutions for their problems. This family knew that we could help them find a solution to their problem, as well.
The Problem: Charlestown condominium was impossible to heat and cool with the existing 3-ton system. The large HVAC system left the condo feeling humid and uncomfortable all year long.
The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc. noticed the problem right away. A 3-ton system was too big for the home and needed to be changed out for a 2-ton 16-Seer American Standard HVAC system.
The Design
Thankfully, the fix for this family was reasonably straightforward. The old 3-ton system would need to be removed and replaced with a system that was the proper size for the home. Mike proposed a 2-ton 16-Seer American Standard HVAC system. This design was the perfect size for the home and would provide easier access for maintenance in the future.
The Installation
Because the new system would have the condenser unit installed on a new section of the roof, where it was more accessible, N.E.T.R., Inc. sealed the roof penetration points and removed the existing refrigerant lines. New refrigerant lines were run up the back of the home to the edge of the roof, where the new 16-Seer American Standard condenser unit was installed. All of the outdoor refrigeration lines were then covered with line hide to make them blend into the home.
Inside, a new 2-ton American Standard variable speed indoor air handler was installed along with a new condensate pump and rain assembly. After the new unit was in place, drain shutoff safety switches were installed, and the system was ready for testing.
The Benefits
The new system will keep the home more comfortable than ever before, and the family can enjoy the savings from upgrading the old system. Now, they won’t be overpaying for an HVAC system that’s too big for the home, so they can enjoy quality heat and air conditioning when they need it most.
Additionally, the family was able to apply for a rebate of $150, which helped offset the cost of installation. Furthermore, the homeowners applied for a Mass Save heat loan, which provided them with a 7-year 0% interest loan for the new system. This family will enjoy their savings for years to come with peace of mind about their investment in their home.
N.E.T.R., Inc. will provide the family with a 1-year warranty on any labor needed for the system, as well as a 12-year warranty for all the new parts installed in the home.
