Adding a sunroom to any home is a great way to increase the natural light in the house. This family in Melrose, MA, decided that their home would be significantly improved with the addition of a sunroom off the living room. The new room gave the homeowners a beautiful view of their surroundings and lots of natural light, but it needed temperature control to stay comfortable.
Window AC units were a possibility for keeping the room cool during the summer, but these air conditioners are noisy and expensive to run. Additionally, they block up the beautiful windows that the family worked so hard to have to enjoy. Lastly, window ACs would not solve the problem of heating the room in the winter, so the owners decided to keep looking for a solution for the new space.
After some research, the owners discovered N.E.T.R., Inc., and our status as the #1 Elite Diamond Dealer for Mitsubishi Electric ductless AC systems in Boston and the surrounding areas. The homeowners felt confident that our team would be able to design a Mitsubishi ductless mini-split system for their sunroom that would provide heating and air conditioning all year long.
The Problem: The new sunroom added to this Melrose, MA, colonial home needed temperature control for every day of the year. They wanted something to offer both heating and air conditioning for the space.
The Solution: N.E.T.R., Inc., installed a Mitsubishi ductless mini-split system with an energy-efficient cold-climate heat pump and a single zone of temperature control for year-round comfort!
The design process of this installation was simple because the room was a new addition. The family needed a new indoor unit for heating and air conditioning in the sunroom and an outdoor condenser unit with low-heat capabilities to provide the energy efficiency they wanted all year round. New refrigerant lines would need to be run from the outdoor condenser to the Mitsubishi ductless unit in the home.
The technicians from N.E.T.R., Inc., started by pouring a concrete pad for the outdoor heat pump to ensure that it remains clear of debris and snow throughout the year. Next, refrigerant piping was run from the condenser to the spot on the wall where the indoor ductless unit would be mounted to the wall. Line hide was placed over the refrigerant and drain lines so that they blended in with the home’s exterior walls.
Inside the home, a small hole was drilled in the wall where the ductless unit would be mounted. This hole allowed the technicians to run the piping through to connect the air handler to the heat pump outside. Next, the unit was mounted on the wall where it would be out of the way and provide the best airflow for the space.
The Mitsubishi ductless mini split system operates through an extremely energy-efficient design. This helped the family get a refund of $925 just for installing an environmentally friendly HVAC system.
These Mitsubishi ductless units are so easy to operate that the owners will be able to control the temperature of their sunroom with the touch of a button. Additionally, the unit will monitor the humidity in the room for complete control over their comfort.
In the winter, the Mitsubishi ductless mini split offers high-quality heating to keep the room warm all winter.. The owners will love that these units offer dual-purpose heating and air conditioning to keep their sunroom comfortable with a single system!
On top of all these incredible features, the ductless system is incredibly quiet, so the homeowners will never have to worry about talking over a loud air conditioner while enjoying their new room. In fact, these units are so quiet that we’ve installed them in music studios!
