The Design
Once the family decided to contact N.E.T.R., Inc., our team met with the owners and toured the house. A three-zoned ductless system was proposed, which would allow the family to have pin-point control over their comfort. The indoor ductless units would be installed in the two bedrooms and the living room, where they needed air conditioning the most.
Additionally, the outdoor condenser unit and heat pump would be installed on the right side of the home. This placement made it easy to access but kept it out of sight.
The Installation
N.E.T.R., Inc. set up the outdoor heat pump on the right side of the home by installing it on a poured concrete pad with risers. The risers would help protect the unit from snow and debris, while the concrete pad gave it a level, firm place to be bolted down.
The indoor units are much easier to install than a standard HVAC system because they do not require extensive ductwork. Instead, the units are mounted on the wall, and a tiny hole is drilled behind each unit. This hole allows the technician to snake a thin tubing through the walls like electrical wiring and connect the indoor unit to the outdoor condenser. The condenser then pumps the treated air through the tubes to the air handlers.

All of the tubing for each of the indoor units was piped through the walls and connected to the outdoor heat pump.
