We do a lot of jobs in the gorgeous homes of Boston's South End, so when we got a call from a homeowner on Upton Street, we were familiar with the problems they were experiencing. All we needed to do was assess the current system and install a solution that would complement what was already in place.

A new Mitsubishi multi-zone AC unit in Boston’s South End.

Problem: The existing system didn't provide AC to the four-story Brownstone evenly, effectively or efficiently.

Solution: A five zone Mitsubishi ductless split system powered by one outdoor condenser and five wall-mounted heads were installed.

A Good Investment

This was a brand-new installation (July 2015) and a new home owner, so without a utility bill history on the property we were unable to do an energy cost-savings analysis for this job.

What we did know is the homeowner has protected his home and his long-term property value by choosing some of the best heating and air conditioning systems available to the residential market.

The warranty on all qualifying systems installed after April 1, 2015 has recently been extended to 12 years! Click here to see the details.

A Mitsubishi ductless split system was the perfect solution for this Brownstone in Boston’s South End

The Ideal Air Conditioning Solution for a Boston Brownstone

In the end, we chose a textbook Brownstone solution.

Based on the homeowner's wish to have absolute control over the temperature in every room in the house, we recommended a five head multi-zone unit from Mitsubishi.

Because we can run all five heads off the same outdoor unit, which keeps the cost under control, we were also able to make this install quickly and efficiently.

We dropped the condenser on the back patio and hid the line in a piece of crown molding, so it blends right in with the brick. All in all, the installation was seamless and didn’t interfere with the home’s beauty.
